I saw you on C-span today and I enjoyed your comments on your book Car Crazy. When you commented on the environmental impact of the car I was disappointed you did not talk about the environmental problem it solved. I was wondering if during your research you found any information concerning the pollution caused by horses prior to the automobile and what a Godsend some felt the car was. In New York it is estimated that just prior to the advent of the car, over 3 million pounds of manure was being generated daily. Also dead horses were a huge problem. Here is a link:
http://nofrakkingconsensus.com/2011/03/29/the-horse-manure-problem/
I thought this might be an interesting topic for a book or might add to people's understanding during one of your Q&A's.McBainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12143985612249586853noreply@blogger.com
